Purchased a long term care policy for my wife and I many years ago. For the past several years, the company has passed on 18+% increases to the premium! Of course they say you can reduce your coverage to make the cost more manageable, but that is not a viable option. Who passes on such a large increase every year? They clearly hope you either drop the policy or reduce the coverage so much they won't have to pay out when the time comes. Is this legal? Probably so. Obviously pretty consistant here with the reviews. MassMutual is more than happy to take your money but complete jerks when you have a legitimate claim. I can't emphasize enough if you need insurance of any kind do your research for a reputable company this one is not it. MassMutual what is the purpose of being rude right from the start of calling in on a claim you sent me a letter on? Especially when it involves the death of a family member? Do you just want to cause extra pain? One star is an over rating for this company!
