Moderately difficult hike. Fantastic aerial views from the top.
It's a great hike filled with stunning views and scenery. The trail is well marked and easy to follow. It's a wide well worn trail. There are some steep sections.
On a sunny day in late April this place is magical. I could not resist to visit even after just finishing the C&O Canal 100-mile ultra marathon less than 24 hours ago and the Boston marathon a week ago! Taking the free shuttle bus from the Harpers Ferry National Historical Park to the Lower Town Harper's Ferry to start and finish the hike is really convenient. I would definitely like to visit this place again during the fall to see the color changes.
