We provided treatment to a mutual patient for two years. This review is based off that experience. She should exercise caution in avoiding assumptions about others, and instead, actively listen while asking questions in a nonjudgmental manner. This approach can lead to more informed decisions in providing care, ultimately preventing misunderstandings, sadness, and unnecessary drama.
Dr Vankooten is a true blessing to me. She is a person who actually cares about her patients and takes the time to find out how to properly treat any issues. Doctors as good as her are hard to find.
Better hope there is never a miscommunication between you and the office, especially if you are struggling with ADHD yourself and trying to get help for a kid that likely has the same. Miss an appointment you don't know about (or thought it was a different day) and she will drop you without a care. Then you have to wait another YEAR to get into another place to get help for your kid who is struggling. Devastating.
