Great chocolate places in the city – When I went to Martine's Chocolates it was pretty busy. I thought the chocolate was very good, but I wasnt overly impressed. I still love Alison Nelson's Chocolate Bar... I have yet to find better chocolates and desserts in the city! They just reopened their West Village location on 19 Eighth Avenue between 12th Street & Jane, NYC (West Village)... The ambiance and chocolates are equally fabulous!
Excellent chocolate and such nice staff – I was there on Valentines Day. The line was out the door. The nice women behind the counter didn't rush things and were not impatient in the least. They encouraged you to pick each chocolate individually, explaining what the ingredients were with a smile. I left there in such a good mood (especially after she gave me a sample on the way out). Oh, and the chocolate is second to none. Really a special experience.
