Today, July 12, 2025, at 3:33 pm, my family and I had a very unpleasant experience with Bus #10 leaving the parking lot toward the ferry in Vineyard Haven. When I boarded the bus at 3:33 pm, I politely asked the driver if he could wait just a moment for my husband, who was coming right behind me with a stroller and a sleeping baby. The driver immediately complained, saying he had to leave exactly at 3:33. I pointed out that it was still exactly 3:33, and my husband was already almost on board. Bus driver was like "stop looking at your phone, I need to go." I was moving at a normal pace in a large line to the bus, and in no way was I slowing others down. Just a weird and rude thing to say. I guess you get what you pay for.
The bus system is great. I grew up here and we did not have it. I lice where it is very convenient to take bus. Don't like to have to find a parking space in summer when it is very busy or at night if cocktails are involved. Very economical.
The drivers are usually very nice and helpful, which is why this is not 1 star. However, I bought a 3 day pass and it lasted a total of 60 hours…not 72. So I had to pay my fair and my wife’s on the way out even though I specifically planned it so I wouldn’t have to. Called customer service and they were no help. Emailed who they told me to email and they were also no help. Rip off
