Best Birthing Center in the UP in my opinion! I just had a baby on May 23, 2020 and had many concerns myself as the UP was opened up for 50% capacity. I was nervous about delivering while people were going to be coming in for sickness but my team of doctors and nurses were fantastic and made my husband and I feel right at home. Doctor Houle was beyond wonderful and knew exactly what she needed to do to keep my baby and I safe while she came into the world. So this company employs this doctor, Thomas Michael Kates, in Marquette who says that if the governor opens the state back up to normal activities he will not treat patients. This is unacceptable comments coming from a Michigan doctor who has taken an oath to protect and save lives.
My parents are receiving bills for the entire cost of service despite their insurance company agreeing to pay, simply because UPHS claims the insurance company does not operate “quickly enough.” Not only is this illegal, but after several requests to obtain a detailed copy of services from billing, UPHS took over 4 months to provide an itemized list. The insurance reports to UPHS that the payment may take up to 90d, and 3 weeks after this report my parents received a call from UPHS reporting that 90d is too long to wait. Exp... read more
I have a lived in the region for about 15 years and have been to the Hospital more than I would like to admit. The doctors (I have been involved with) have been helpful.
drove a loved one (75-100 miles) in a Blizzard for some important testing to get there and I couldn't accompany her in the building because the " virus" . nothing was said about on that in the conformation call the day before or posted on any of their sites. couldn't even use the restroom. VERY PISS POOR!!!!!!!!
