After a long stay in hospital my Dad moved to Estia for respite followed by a move to a permanent stay. We were so blessed to have Dad at Estia so he could be in a familiar environment as my Mum passed there four years earlier. My sister was a resident at Estia Health Care for 2.5 years. Her loss of independent living was so difficult and choosing the right facility for her was paramount. This was an excellent choice. Our stepfather Eric moved to Estia Little Bay in August following a series of falls at home and two weeks in hospital. He was very reluctant to leave his home but staying was not an option. All the staff were very welcoming and always tried very hard to help Eric make the transition from home. We were assured by the high level of 24 hour care being provided and the kindnesses shown every day to Eric by every member of staff. Our Dad has been at Little bay for 5 years. It is his home and we are always made welcome to visit , to celebrate cultural and family celebrations or have a meal with him. It was a hard decision to place our Dad in care, but the transition for us and Dad, was made possible by the Staff who care for not only Dad but gave us both a sense of belonging.
