I had Dave Hinkle and crew replace two transmissions for me and they had to drive to Charleston to do it. Unlike so many in the marine industry when Dave told me he was going to be there he as there. When he said he was going to do the work he got it done. I have three boats and my only regret is that I can't get Dave to work on all of them because two of them are in Hawaii and that is a bit to far for him to travel. total disaster...they do not return phone calls, and have started disassembling my engine and never returned. I have no doubt they might be very experienced but they have NO idea how to deal with customers. I have not heard from them since they began the disassembly. They did prior work which it turned out was not needed as they were trying to figure out the problem and were paid for it, so there is no excuse for their lack of response.
David responded quickly to our request for service on our 33 year old Kohler generator and sent Russell to diagnose and repair starter and heat exchanger. Running great now. Happy customer!
Have had nothing but issues after these guys did work on my northern lights generator. The same generator they said was in perfect condition. They literally connected the starting battery up backwards…the negative (black cable) was on the positive terminal and positive cable (red cable) was on the negative terminal….the two “certified” guys working on the engine couldn’t figure out why it wouldn’t start. They also twisted two wires together and left them covered up in the control box…only for me to have to find the wires sho... read more
I've been having some conversations with this David Henkel for 3 months He keeps telling me "next week, next week ", and never shows, doesn't call. I wouldn't let this fool anywhere near my vessel Not trustworthy, not reliable, no way competent Too bad his one mechanic has to work for such a dip $hit
