I had been struggling with tension issues while playing the violin for years. The Alexander Technique is a way of thinking that helps you improve your movement patterns as you go through life. I’ve benefitted greatly from learning it by reading books and listening to podcasts. Mariel is the best; knowledgeable, passionate, challenging, patient, and hilarious. Lower back pain from herniated discs had started to really affect my quality of life when I began lessons last year. I've experienced dramatic improvements since then and would recommend anyone who's curious about AT to give it a try.
Mariel is an excellent teacher. She really understands the theory of Alexander technique and is a highly skilled practitioner. She is also very good at putting you at ease and has a very friendly manner. I really recommend Mariel to anyone with back or neck problems, or anyone wishing to improve their posture.
