If possible, which I know is not always the case use another ambulance. The payment place is a mess they threaten collections if it’s not paid in 30 days and they don’t take jn account you have to submit your own insurance. It is a complete scam
The payment system has too many hands in the pot. Accident September 15th. Ambulance came, good experience. Medicare paid. HOP paid. HOP sent payment to business company in North Carolina per instructions. Big SNAFU IN North Carolina complete with threats of “Sent to Collection” notice. Classic case of “ Payment in the Mail” scenario. My credit status in jeopardy. Good Grief!
We recently pulled up to the OAL medical building at North Pointe. An unoccupied MT ambulance was parked at patient drop off. As we had an elderly family member needing a wheelchair we pulled in behind the ambulance in order to access the wheelchair ramp as best as possible. As we were obviously struggling to get our patient out of the car 3 ambulance members came out of the building pushing an empty stretcher.
