I brought my vehicle in to get an inspection sticker and my snow tires installed. I had the work done on a Wednesday and the next Monday my rim/tire came off. I was driving 40mph and hit a bump and suddenly realized I had a major problem. I called Maine Auto Service from the side of the road and Joe, the manager, immediately asked me if I had brought it back at 25 miles to retighten the lugs. I asked Joe if they would take responsibility at 24 miles, or 26 miles or would I need to bring it in at exactly 25? He had no response. I told him I think that is a poor excuse for them failing to do their job property. He told me that they do not have a tow service so if I could get the vehicle in they would take a look. When I brought the vehicle in they were rude and dismissive. The manager kept mumbling about 25 miles but I really couldn’t understand what he was saying. I am 37 years old and have never brought a car back to get my lugs retightened. The next day they called me and told me it would cost $300 to fix my car and it would take 3-4 days. I told them I completely disagree but had no option but to pay since I need my car. I had brought my car to Maine Auto Service for the past few years and was always satisfied. It seems they are a bit too busy now for both quality work and customer service. I will never go back.
