What a disappointment – Not only do these cupcakes fail to meet expectations....they're just plain awful. The worst part was the icing....way too sweet! The coconut cake was good, and the banana pudding was very good....but nothing blew us away. Not to mention...it's pretty darn expensive! I'd rather go to the corner store for a Hershey's bar next time.
YUMMY! – i just got back from a trip to NYC and magnolia was one of the memories i made. i tried their lemon cake and blueberry jamboree... both delicious-- especially the cake though! i come from the frosting school of, more butter to sugar... having said that, magnolia can lighten up a bit on the butter content of their frosting. i WILL be back!
Fairy-Tale Cupcakes – Ok so there's a lot of hype about this place, but honestly, any place that has a line out the door at any given time of day has to be doing something very, very right, and that they are the cupcakes are right out of a fairy-tale, frosted in pastels and whimsical sugar sprinkles and flowers the iced mochas are large and delicious, the peanut butter ice-box pie is not to be missed but honestly you can't leave here without at least one cupcake and the location is wonderful and while surely have you coming ... read more
Why?? – Sorry people but their cupcakes are so overrated. No taste and the frosting is too sweet. And the line....Ridiculous!
the cupcakes really ARE that yummy – I don't know how all of these "cupcake connoisseurs" say the cupcakes aren't fabulous. They are. I don't boast my cupcake knowledge, but I will say that stopping by Magnolia and treating myself to a cupcake makes studying a whole lot more enjoyable. No need to be a snob about it--just enjoy!
Great Cupcakes – Really great cupcakes!! Really great cupcakes!!Really great cupcakes!!Really great cupcakes!!Really great cupcakes!!
I love cupcakes, but Magnolia's are completely overrated. The cake is too dense and the frosting has an oily mouth-feel. Pass and spend your cupcake dollars elsewhere.
when i see the line, you see stupid people – whenever i see the line wrapped around the block, i laugh at how stupid these people for buying into the hype. i make cupcakes just like these using boxed cake mix. with the frosting and cake, it tastes exactly the same. if you think there is something different, then you are a fool. i do like their flourless chocolate cake, which is light and yummy.
Not so good – I was looking forward to going here I love cupcakes. I was so disappointed the cupcake was pretty, but had no flavor and was stale. The icing was to sweet. My husband and I together only ate about half of it. We tried the red velvet cheesecake, now that was good.
