More responsible and diligent than local institutions. Called to assure that my children could not obtain passports. Joel was outstanding. Local municipalities act as if they don’t even know who you are. Joel followed up with me and we traded emails. Local institutions need turnover to get better ethical people in positions and take training from departments like this. Joel was great.
Customer service is horrible. Called during office hours to drop off paperwork, no answer says that they are “busy”. Says they are open after 4:30 online so drove all the way to Albany to drop it off and all of the employees left.
Per Security and Personnel, public access to most offices were shut down during COVID-19, and never re-opened. I went to both the Department of State and the to the Offices of Oversight for the NYS Court Systems, whom also do not accept 'Walk-Ins' or physical submissions of forms- again, based on Security Personnel and Helpdesk information.
They are expected to be familiar with New York VTL service of process rules and compliance but the Secretary of State officers who picked up the phone asked me: "What is VTL?". Incredible! They process VTL requests as part of their functions but their employees do not know what Vehicle and Traffic Law service of process through Dept of State Secretary of State is!
