I found myself admitted to the Acute Mental Health Unit at Belfast City Hospital. I was in Ward Four ( a PICU ). I was a detained patient. Simply awful, I could write a book on how ineffective and frankly incompetent this lot are - they really don't have your best interests at heart. Gaslighting, ineffectual/non-existent representation, blasé attitude to their client and a complete lack of care/attention given the seriousness of the situation. The barrister appointed clearly had no intention of doing any research or work on the case (forgot evidence, admitting he 'dropped the ball', asked me what my job was on the day of the case as if he didn't know me at all,... read more
