About this business

The LES Conservancy, in existence since 1998, showcase's the Lower East Side , the cradle of American Jewish Immigration. We accomplish this by giving customized private and occasional public tours to groups of all sizes. Our tours are unique in that we are the only ones to take our visitors into the synagogues allowing them to be experienced from the inside. The Biaylstoker Synagogue and The Museum at Eldridge Street are featured on our tours.

Great Tour – I recently went on a tour with the conservancy and I must say it was great. The guide really knew her history. I grew up on the LES and learned things about the LES that I never knew before. I highly recommend this tour.

Great Tour! – The tour was great, we got to go into all the shuls on the Lower East Side that are absolutely beautiful, even more so than many of the synagogues I have seen in Easter Europe. The guide really knew her stuff, and I was so surprised with many of the facts that I learned. If you want to do a tour of the Lower East Side, I would definitely say to do this one, just pick a day with nice weather.

Extremely Enthusiastic Guide – We walked around the Loewr East Side, luckily it was a beautiful day, and we visited all the synagogues and sights. The Bialystoker shul took my breath away and all the art that was present was brought to life through the stories of our guide, Laurie, who was extremely knowledgable and just expressed such great love for this tour and the history it encompasses. We learned marvelous things about astrology and Judaism, I would totally recommend it.
