Went today to rent boards for myself and my son. We had been to multiple surf shops up and down the coast looking for epoxy surfboards to rent. They had a great selection of boards, good prices, and were super friendly. The shop was also conveniently located walking distance from the pier.
I really wanted to like Locals Surf Shop, but my experience wasn’t great. Called to ask about their Firewire demos, and the guy on the phone was pretty rude and not very helpful. Gave it another shot on a different day, but got the same vibe. I’m not giving them 1 star because they might have good gear, but the lack of friendly service made me look elsewhere.
Legit surf shop with real surfers staff. They have great price surfboards rental for both beginners and advanced surfers. Their staff is helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. We were not staying in the area but took a detour to go there, and found out that the pier to be a great location for surfing, which is a 10 min walk from the shop. Hopefully I will have time to go back for shopping as they have all the top surf gears in the market for both clothing and equipment.
