Transferring from one account to another both in our names and held with Lloyds. We were approached by a member of staff working along the queue. She took us in a side room and asked for ID,We told her we hadn't got any and didn't think we needed any as we haven't ever been asked before but explained the staff on the counter knew us. Went in to ask for some pound coins. They said no because I wasn't a Lloyds Bank customer. Then they had the audacity to ask if I was thinking of changing banks because then they would do it. They'd got an offer on at the moment! With that policy...no way.

My mother died recently and one of her banks asked me for a certified copy of my driving licence to prove my ID before they could close her account. So I went into Lloyds Matlock to ask if somebody could spare 3 minutes to do this for me. Sadly, they refused, despite both myself and my late mother being loyal customers! Dealing with a loved one's affairs after they die is a painful and difficult process at a time when you are still grieving. They have always been helpful to us & very polite for many years. Excellent service, and we are grateful Lloyds still at least maintain a branch locally unlike all the other banks.
