On 6 February 2026, at around 7:30 pm, I went to a store with my family to buy some alcohol. However, an Indian female staff member refused to serve us because we are Asian and forced us to leave the store. Even though we presented valid identification, it made no difference. I am extremely upset about this incident and wish to lodge a formal complaint about the matter.
Found a choice bottle of Red on sale! Cosy bottleshop next to Coles on Adelaide Street. Shop Manager is friendly and happy to assist! Highly recommended for ease of shopping , location and cool environment out of the heat!
Avoid this place if you’re a foreigner. Despite having a valid ID proving I am over 23, the young woman refused to sell me alcohol on December 24th. Thankfully, there is a BWS right next door, where I received great advice and paid less for exactly the same product. What I don’t understand is that two very young women went through the checkout before me without being asked for any ID at all. The staff member that helped me in this store was exceptional!! It was a reasonably large click and collect order and they went out of their way to help, made sure they supplied as much as possible, cold. Just really friendly and helpful.
