I am filing this complaint against Legacy Title regarding the handling of my closing on ******** Drive. Prior to closing, I was informed I would be receiving approximately $2,700 back. On the morning of closing, just hours before the scheduled time, I was told this was incorrect and that I instead owed over $2,000. With less than three hours’ notice, I was forced to scramble for funds. I am not one to leave a bad review of a company but this is a special case. I recently sold a home and the buyer wished to use this title company. Later, it was revealed the buyers were offered a discount from the representing attorney to use Legacy Title. I received emails from three different people associated with Legacy Title wanting to verify the payoff with the bank including acct info, my official/legal name and requested me to electronically send a copy of my Dr Lic etc. I thought this was a scam, with so many differ... read more
