William Leavitt is a great lawyer but even more so a very ethical person. I wanted to hire him to handle my godchild’s tenant issues and he told me you can do the beginning steps yourself and save yourself the money. I recommended him to the coop board and hope they hire him. FYI, housing judges these days are very patient, kind and supportive as they know most people are coming without lawyers. I didn’t want to keep bothering Mr. Leavitt as I didn’t want to make an error so Met Council is also very helpful.
I can promise you that William Leavitt is extremely knowledgeable dealing with tenant landlord issues. Please listen and do exactly what he tells you to. William never promised me anything. I expected to get pummeled by a wealthy building owner. William had my back, he is extremely tenacious. I never dreamed of getting the results that William Leavitt delivered. CASE DISMISSED

Sorry, I was not lucky. Mr Leavitt was referred by another attorney. I am writing after several months passed since my initial consultation. I believe he is knowledgeable in past tenants law. 2019-2024 generated a lot of owners post-HSTPA fraud schemes. Now the “ Burrowers”( cases after first class action )the cases with fraud 421a tax abatement, are more and more filed in courts . What attorney did not know, he could to research.
