Extremely rude in it for the money I was given Mr. Stephen P Archibeque As a public defender from the very beginning, you could tell it was all about the money I would call to no callbacks. It took a literal month and a half to even get a callback from Mr. Stevan but by that time I had to fight with an unhelpful rude assistant just to get to him and after telling them, I’m mostly available in mornings he calls me at 1 o’clock, where I was not able to respond because I was at my job cutting out concrete where it was not safe ... read more
This is an updated review. Steven Archibeque is an amazing defense attorney with an eye for procedural advantage. His communication style is sparse but the dude is very capable. His office personnel are so rude and unprofessional which is why we previously gave him a 1-star review. we were compelled to update based on watching his performance in multiple court dates. Bottom line you can trust him to find a way to protect your rights.

I merely tried getting help for friends that he represents and got hung up on. Then they clearly stopped answering the phone for the next 10 minutes. Look elsewhere if you really need help and if the court assigns him ask for alternatives.

I recently watched Steve defend someone in a high stakes homicide trial in Taos. Steve was sharp, keen on legal nuances, and quick to object each time the prosecutors tried to pull a fast one. I would definitely recommend him as a top notch attorney in New Mexico!
