STAY AWAY! Tried using this bank because it was recommended by Ramsey Solutions. TBH I was quite excited to see their high yield savings at 4.5%. So without any research, I created an account easily, set up my banks for transfers and transferred my savings to Laurel Road. Everything went well, until a week later when they locked my account. Mostly-online bank that has sign up offers but is notorious for locking funds and accounts when you attempt to withdraw. Check the TrustPilot review for thousands of others with the same experience. My account has been locked for weeks, and despite filing complaints with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Better Business Bureau, and the state Comptroller and threatening legal action, they still have not even reviewed my case yet, as I am told by their awful customer support. I filed an application to open a checking account, and I should have known from the first interaction that this business is not a good one. It took several attempts to apply online as their website is not functioning properly. And when I finally applied, they requested a bunch of documents to verify my identity, I sent the documents they needed (had to do that twice), just to learn they rejected my application. Do NOT use this bank!!! They are HORRIBLE!! New research nurse job at major healthcare system. First check is LIVE check and they put a massive hold on it claiming “unlikely to collect” HUGE health system, major cancer research center. When I called in, was LITERALLY SCREAMED at by customer service. Multiple people attempted to lie about regulations as if I was too dumb to understand banking laws.
