I am updating this review and changing three stars to five stars. I'm very happy with the changes that have been made and remain cautiously optimistic. Previous review: I had written a very negative review of Laurel Lodge several weeks ago due to my loved one not receiving care in proportion to the almost $6000 monthly cost we are paying. My parents have been at Laurel Lodge for over three years now. I am so grateful for the staff and all of your care! The changes they have made recently just make it feel so warm and homey as well. Thank you for all you do it means so much.

I never intended for my mom to be put into an assisted living home. However my wife is looking after her 93 year old mother and there is no way Mom can live with us at this time. If you are in a similar situation as me and want your loved one to receive the best possible care I would highly recommend Laurel Lodge. Carly Applewhite (executive director) and April Beavers-Grant (wellness director) started work here in September 2025 after the former director Cristy Stewart resigned. I wish anyone reading this review could crawl inside my heart and feel how grateful I am to write it. My mother has been at LL for about a year now, and during that time we’ve been on a roller-coaster ride that I believe has finally become a smooth, pleasant drive. This review reflects our experience specifically with the Assisted Living side of the facility. I don’t have any insight into the Memory Care side. The new director is amazing. She has made so many positive changes. Morale is up with staff. Resident care has increased. Memory Care has a director and activities director. There is better care there. Thank goodness. If this continues, LL will be the best facility in North Georgia.
