Laurel Lodge has been an answer to my prayers! My mother needed a new facility closer to my home in Gainesville. Called in and spoke with Becky Bowman. From our first conversation she made me feel like family. Took the time to explain all the steps needed to make her transition smooth. Help me set up every aspect in a timely and caring manner. Hang in there residents and families of Laurel Lodge. I know there are a lot of issues with the facility as far as care and management. My mother has been in memory care there since June and I’ve had my fair share of problems. BUT, I can confidently and honestly tell you it will get better. My husband and I had the honor and privilege of volunteering at Laurel Lodge on a weekly basis for two years. Over in that time, we got to know a lot of of the residents, and developed meaningful relationships with them. We also got to know a lot of the staff, and we saw the care they had for the residents. I know the staff cares about everyone who lives there, and I always appreciated the fact that they made holidays and other special occasions just that…special. When I chose Laurel Lodge for my loved one, it seemed like a good fit for both location and care. Further more, the Executive Director made a great first impression. They were also early enough into the ownership transition to The Oaks that the facility was still benefiting from the good leadership of the previous owners.
