カリフォルニアの有名な大学キャンパス内にある図書館で、学生の研究や学習を支える静かな知的空間だよ。歴史ある雰囲気と現代的な学習環境がうまく共存していて、落ち着いて本を読んだり勉強したりするのにすごく向いている場所。特に夜遅くまで開いていることも多くて、集中して作業したい人にはかなりありがたい存在。観光目的でも中に入れることがあり、大学の日常を感じられるのが面白いポイント。派手さはないけど、その分じっくり過ごせる居心地の良さがあって、静かに過ごしたい人や学びの空気を感じたい人にはかなりおすすめだよ。

When the P bus drops me at the Oval, I follow a quiet trail, careful not to mistake the trees for a forest. Wordsworth comes to mind: “I wandered lonely as a cloud that floats on high o’er vales and hills…”. These clouds, now, are my fellow cohorts — workshopping our triolets and villanelles. There’s beauty in it, sometimes. But often I find myself wishing we read the classics instead — instead of listening, week after week, to earnest student work, politely encouraging what feels like mediocrity.
