I have been with landstar roughly 8yrs and I say it’s great company for o/o. But i like to point out that some dirty agents like JBX, JBM etc that do home depot loads and they never tell you about the drop trailer rule that could take away 2-3 days of work with zero compensation. Also weight they post is almost never accurate please avoid them!
I'm an operator, the owner of the truck I drive for is a cool guy. I like working for him but Landstar is a different aspect. I know they charge owners 35% on every load, but for premits? If you add how many loads you do a week times four in a month. That's a lot of money! For renting, using, they're trailers? Some of the trailers are so old the landing gear is hard, and the trailer tandems to unlock and slide them have the medal pull bar instead of the pull out button...Tires? They use recaps.
