After a year of battling with Malaysian phone-drones at HSBC (for Canadian problems) I said to heck with it and moved over to the LRCU. The biggest selling point for me is that I can telephone them and talk to a real person inside the branch, not a faceless, powerless operator on the other side of the planet. I can quibble with some of their policies of course, but overall the LRCU offers exactly the same things that HSBC gave me, but with many less hours sitting on hold and being angry at the horrid service. We have been members of the Credit Union for almost 30 years and appreciate the long standing relationship. With their growth we have seen the addition to their long term staff. Karrie White-Allen went beyond the call of duty when looking after our financing needs. She was kind, friendly and proactive. She worked diligently on our behalf had got us the best product at the best rate. I give them five stars!
This is the worst banking experience I have ever had. So many hidden and unexplained fees. I always feel gross after every interaction I have had with this bank and it’s employees. Avoid this business.
My husband and I have been members of this credit union for over 40 years. It provides all the services we need and more. While I appreciate being able to do much of my banking online, whenever I come into the credit union, staff are consistently friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. As a member/owner, I like being able to participate in determining the direction of our credit union through attending annual meetings. And I like the fact that through ‘banking’ at a credit union, money stays in our own community.
