There is no cake and pastry shop in the Darwin area that matches Kurt's cakes. You want perfection in cakes and pastries? Go there but one recent dud note should hopefully be resolved. Used to have the best sausage rolls ever anywhere in oz, but served flat, unflaky, pastry that was chewy and undercooked. Bit of a shock, really. I expect a reversion to brilliance. Let's see! CUP CAKE MIX WAS CHEAP AND GLUGGY The service was really good considering I placed the order at the last minute. However if you’re expecting quality, it isn’t there. Not much effort put into making sure the experience of actually eating the cupcakes was enjoyable as the texture was as if they weren’t cooked enough/not aerated. More like muffin mix and the flavour was floury. Although they looked pretty from the outside, the icing also missed the mark.
I rang Kurt & wanted a cake for a 40th birthday. He did a fantastic job of the chocolate mud cake. It was beautifully decorated & the taste was to die for. No complaints from everyone only good reviews. Thanks Kurt. I would highly recommend
