We booked the Midday Meander: Kealakekua Bay Kayak and Snorkel Tour for myself, husband, and 2 sons (11 years and 6 years). It was one of our favorite afternoons on Big Island! Evan, our tour guide, was absolutely amazing. He was kind, extremely knowledgeable about Big Island and the Kealakekua Bay, and wonderful with our boys. The snorkeling is incredible in Kealakekua Bay. We would highly recommend this tour!
Fabulous experience! Evan and Michael were amazing leaders. It was so much better than taking a boat over. We signed up for the early morning experience and arrived to the Bay by kayak (not a long kayak) before the boats motored in. We had the place to ourselves for 30 minutes before everyone else arrived. The experience is pricey but worth it. Kona Boys supports the local community and ecology so your money goes to that too. Very pleased with the experience, we got a much better understanding of the Hawaiian culture, and handling an outrigger canoe. Great guide, very knowledgeable, he made the experience.
Recently took our 2nd outrigger canoe ride out into beautiful Kailua bay with our guide Grant and it was just as enjoyable as our first, if not more so! Grant is so friendly, helpful and full of interesting facts about Hawai'i, I challenge anyone to find a better tour guide on the big island. Even with her mobility issues, my 77 year old mom has made the canoe ride out into the bay and seen so many spinner dolphins and just had an unforgettable time TWICE now, thanks to Grants patient, caring and personable nature.
