Please avoid Kitsap Credit Union. I have banked with numerous financial institutions over the years, and this has been, without question, the worst experience I’ve ever had. After opening my accounts—including a vehicle loan and credit card—their Risk Department apparently failed to understand that two people in the same family can share the same name and that dates of birth exist for a reason. Tried to pay with a cashier check to pay off my loan, and oh boy what a headache it has caused. First kitsap entered the check wrong then they had an encoding error, and trying to get this specific branch to help was like pulling teeth, kept telling me it was a becu issue that somehow the account was closed. Keep in mind it was a cashiers check aka certified funds. This would be the 3rd vehicle I had under kitsap loan and all have been a major problem to pay off. I stopped by Kitsap Credit Union to get a new debit card, and Peter went above and beyond to help me. While assisting me, he noticed that my car insurance information still hadn’t been updated on my account, even though I had already tried to get it fixed twice before without any success. Peter took the time to look into it and resolved the issue immediately with no hesitation.
