Frequent traveller, infrequent reviewer. Most places we stay are serviceable and as I expect them to be. Nobody wants a 3 star review saying ‘OK’. So it’s a real pleasure to of found this little gem of a place. If you are reading this and considering staying here or somewhere else, I hope this review helps convince you to choose here! My family and I had a wonderfully relaxing time at Kirnan Estate, all thanks to Rob and Gemma's friendly hospitality. The Chapel Cottage was like a cosy haven, with a mix of modern comforts and charming historical features that made it a special place to stay. The crackling fireplace made everything even cosier, perfect for relaxing and playing a fun game of Scrabble with a glass of whisky in hand – and yes, I might have won! This was our second stay at Kirnan in Torrnalaich Cottage. We love it here! Gemma and Rob are generous and friendly hosts and the location in Kilmichael Glen is absolutely stunning. The cottage is warm and cosy, and has been thoughtfully restored using a clever mix of antiques alongside new pieces. The high quality of the renovation here is not typical of typical holiday cottages (we travel a lot) and you can feel the love for this place.
