My grandmother lived at Kirby Pines from 2012-2015. She has a wonderful 2 bedroom apartment. She eventually declined in health and needed to transition to medical. The staff was wonderful. She suffered from COPD and a very harsh fight against dementia. The staff in Job's way were caring and empathetic. They knew myself, my mother & both my aunts by name. We visited everyday. My mom was at Kirby Pines Retirement Community from 2015-2020. The independent side was nice but the medical side was horrid. One mistake after another from Rehab through Skilled Nursing Care; where she passed away during Covid. None of the staff is professionally trained with dementia/Alzheimer patients. Do NOT go there if your family members have this medical condition. The final 2 biggest fatal medical calamities from them happened. They changed her from regular diet to puréed.
