I would not recommend this for kids younger than 5; not even for a 5 year old. The pace is pretty slow which would seem good, but most of the time was spent struggling to climb up the hill with skis. The lift was never used. We were not impressed with the curriculum, or the supervision. At the end of the lesson my kids were left to mill about on their own with no instructor watching to make sure they were safely picked up by a parent. This is for the little kid ski school, 5 lessons in a my kid can’t get down a bunny hill. Its a cute daycare, but that’s not what I’m looking for Winter Park is normally our main moutain, but I’m over wasting time and money on the kid program we are switching to Copper for ski school.

I have had 3 kids learn to ski at the Winter Park Ski School and I have been very happy with the level of engagement from the instructors. Recently my son had a touch of altitude sickness at the beginning of our trip and was needing to change dates for his lesson. Sloan at Ski School was understanding, kind and helpful with the adjustment and I am grateful for the flexibility to adjust the lesson day for my child.

I don't feel like the instructor did a good job trying to engage my nervous barely 4 year old. It didn't seem like the instructor had prior experience dealing with young, emotional children. My son was hesitant to get out there, and the instructor pretty quickly gave up on him. The instructor went with the other kids in the group and I stuck around to cheer him up. My only issue was that ski school started before the bus arrives from Fraser on weekdays. Josie was a great instructor.
