Unbelievably fresh, and completely undamaged after a week of failed delivery attempts by various transport carriers.
While on the famous Bourbon Trail of Kentucky dining in a Fine restaurant for dinner we were exposed to Kern`s Derby Pie. What a treat! Never knowing that such a thing existed and after indulging we immediately felt the need to take one(or 2)home to Buffalo, NY. for Thanksgiving. Needless to say, we drove directly to the bakery on our way home and purchased one of their Golden Pecan and Derby pies which came right out of the freezer. I have been serving these for years. it's a family staple. My freezer is always stocked with these. For planned events or when visitors stop by, grab one from the freezer, bake for about 15 minutes and ready to serve.
Ordered the Derby Pie out of curiosity because I had never heard of it. Not usually a pie fan but this pie was wonderful. Very tasty warmed up. Now I'll have to try another one and experiment with whip cream and/or ice cream.
I heard about your Derby pie on Sirius XM and had to try it. I arrived 4 days after I purchased one. I cooked it this morning. And I have to say this is one of the BEST pies I have ever had. It was perfectly proportioned. The crust was so flaky. It’s definitely a melt in your mouth experience. Now I need to dry the golden pecan pie. Thank you so much. I love your pie.
