Buyers forfeited $29,000 deposit after 5 months of escrow. "The underwriter was fired... was on vacation... is backlogged.... we changed lenders...." "My dog ate the loan docs" was the only excuse they didn't use during 5 months of hell. On and on it went, for 5 months, 2 of those waiting for an appraisal. We finally threw them out, kept buyer's deposit and resold the house, closing in 30 days.
