Kearny Bank has hit an all time low again. The board of directors has now stopped the interest rate on the checking account. Wow it did not amount to much to begin with but to take it away just awful. This is just par for what goes on at this bank. First it was droping interest rates 3 to 1 for what every other bank did now this. I guess the board of directors can get another boost in salary now !!! Kearny Bank drops interest rate for 7th time since April 12 on it's money market account. Hey this sould be some milestone for you guys since the fed only lowered interest rates 3 times. Since that date the interest rate was 4.07% it has been lowered 7 times and it now stands at 2.96% from 3.10%. It was just lowered on Feb 12 to 3.10% from 3.39%. I really don't see a need to answer from the bank side since it would only be difficult times calls for difficult choices. It is really too bad that you could not keep it above 3%. ... read more
