Kaya Vineyard and Winery is a rebirth of Blackstock Vineyards; located in Dahlonega, Georgia. Blackstock was one of the first and largest vineyards in the Dahlonega area (40ac). The unfortunate closing of the Blackstock winery in late 2012 paved the way for a complete renovation and re-vitalization of the property. This is a beautiful vineyard and the tasting room porch has a very nice and relaxing view of the vineyards and trees. There were 3 of us in our family who drove into town for a wedding and were excited to find a winery open past 5PM (crazy that most have to close that early). It was a Friday EARLY evening and all 3 of us got a flight of wine and a charcuterie board. Amazing views & wine. Loved the patio chairs. Very friendly staff.
If you are heading there today, 8/31 (labor day weekend) keep in mind, they are overwhelmed and the service is very messy. Views are still spectacular, and the live music is fun. But, you have to wait a very long time to order, then you go sit outside only to find out that they have run out of glasses today and would not give you your whole flight like others, and you need to drink it inside (what?), the come back for the next one. We had the best time! Elizabeth helped us get situated and set the UGA game up for us so we could sit and watch. She deserves a promotion! Went above and beyond for guest experience. This is our favorite winery!
Did the tasing of red wines, 5 of them, and loved them all. The mountain views are beautiful. Live music was a plus. Employees and the facility were super nice. Sat outside and the flies were annoying, so not sure what can be done about that. Definitely would go back and recommend.
