The staff here is poor i had to quit because they DO NOT VALUE YOUR LOVE ONES THAT ARE IN THE FACILITY. THE DIRECTOR SHOULD BE FIRED FOR HOW POORLY AND DISGUSTING SHE TREATS STAFF AND RESIDENTS THAT STAY HERE. PLEASE IF YOU LOVE YOUR LOVE ONES YOU WOULD RECONSIDER ANOTHER HOME OTHER THAN KAROLWOOD.
My father paid for a full month for my mom to stay here while she was dying. She was not given pain medications when she asked for them & she was suffering greatly from having multiple strokes & a injured leg. They let her lay their for hours until my family threw a fit for them to give her meds because she was crying. She passed about 15 minutes after she finally got her meds. She was in so much pain she could not pass peacefully because of these people that don't pay attention to their patients. Another complaint is this c... read more
Karolwood Gardens in Portsmouth has hard working, dedicated staff loving on our elderly family members day in and day out. It’s definitely hard work but you can tell they love it. From the top with Rachel you have great leadership, Joann in activities engaging the residents, Farron taking care of the building, Miranda keeping it clean, Mike putting out great food, all the way to Latoya with a smile to greet you. Definitely a great crew and a value for the money. Keep up the great work
On Sunday I arrived here at 9am. Upon arrival and trying to be buzzed in, it looked like a ghost town. I called the emergency line on the door still no answer! I had to wait over 30 minutes for someone to finally stroll by and open the door. Absolutely ridiculous! They need to hire someone to work the front desk. It’s not fair to the residents that live here when nurses, family, friends etc. are just trying to come visit them.
