We hired our first accountant EVER for our 2011 taxes. Kari Mitchell Accounting made an error on our taxes and we were told that we owed more money because of said error. When Kari's office was contacted, we were told she was sorry about it and that it was our responsibility because we had been given a discount on our taxes. WHAT?!? Not impressed. Did not provide us with an organizer prior to our meeting so we spent 1 1/2 hours with the accountant filling out the organizer. They took 2 months to prepare the taxes and their fees (nearly $700 per year) are inflated for that kind of service. They did not meet with us in person to review their findings or provide info on options for making installment payments to the IRS as was discussed in the first meeting. Poor communicators overall. We have gone to Kari Mitchell accounting for the past 10 years. For the most part have been satisfied, until this year. Her staff are rude and have terrible customer service skills. They charge hidden fees, have staff who are incompetent and do not know what they are doing. They forgot several deductions this year, as well as saying we didn't include the 1099 for Oregon taxes. We will never return there to have our taxes done and will also be telling our friends to not go there.

I have been using Kari Mitchell for 16 years and she and her staff have always been upfront with costs...I believe if your taxes justify the use of an accountant of her caliber then you really should not frown on the costs and far as mistakes ..we all make them . Kari and her staff have always been more than gracious to correct errors. And as far as faxing things to a bank well that should be the responsiblility of the client. Now if it were to send something to the IRS ...now we are talking about something a tax accountant ... read more

Far too expensive, with horrible service – We have gone to Kari Mitchell accounting for taxes for the last 3 years. The prices continue to increase, paid over $600 this year. They charge by the form but don't tell you when they are adding forms to your return that will increase the fees that you have to pay. I feel that it is important when adding cost to the customer to make them informed of that increased cost. Kari's accountants feel differently. We will never return to her again.

Best Accountant Ever!! – Kari took my taxes and no only had them done in record time but only charged me about $300 for them. I own an alpaca ranch which has a different style of tax deductions and expenses. She knew exactly what to do and I ended up with a refund. She then took extra time to help me understand small businesses and gave me awesome advice on how to market my new venture.

Never met Kari Mitchell, Very Expensive – Was referred to Kari Mitchell acounting by a Mcclaughlin used car dealer and was initially satisfied with the service that Joyce delivered even if it cost over a thousand dollars to prepare my taxes. Was shocked when the auditor said that the way the taxes were prepared an experienced accountant should have known was wrong.
