I've volunteered here off and on for a total of about 10 years. I totally reccomend doing it for even just one day it is defiantly an eye opener and you will stop complaining and realize how blessed you are. These people have absolutely nothing and even if you give them an apple to eat they are so happy and grateful for even that. They have everything they own in a suitcase and backpack most of the time.
