I spent a few months with multiple in person visits to the San Clara office on Coleman cross Street Reed. As matter of fact, I live on Reed Avenue in Sunnyvale, CA also near a Costco. I appreciate the need for secrecy regarding the name change from J. R. Financial & Insurance to Altura Weath Management and congratulate all of staff who remain in the new set up. I have been using JR financial for 7 years. They manage my retirement assets. I have been extremely happy with everything they have done for me. Buying stocks and annuities. Transferring funds between financial institutions. And managing my portfolio for the best financial outcome. I highly recommend JR Financial if you are looking for personal financial management support.
Terrible experience with both their financial advising and the "complimentary" tax services. Financial advising - Rare check-ins, and when we did meet it was super high-level with no real detail. Never felt like they were actually looking out for me. Tax services - Used them for 2 years, and both times there were mistakes on my tax returns that I had to catch myself. The second year I caught the mistake too late and asked them to file an amendment. It's been 14 months now and I'm still waiting on my refund.
