I went to Brown University a long time ago. Around 30 years ago I still remember walking in the door and getting kicked out of this library because it wasn’t open to all students. $25,000 a year even back then wasn’t enough to allow me to just sit in this library and use it.
No longer open to the public. Currently only offers very limited public hours.
I loved exploring!!! It was smaller than I expected, but maybe I don’t know how to navigate it. I did ask for a map or a guide or something, but I was told there were three floors I could explore and that was it. I saw a study room on the first floor. I honestly didn’t see many books. The floors lead to a bunch of closed rooms (many hallways had signs warning that an alarm would sound if you went there, so you were mostly just walking down the main corridors).
