While I was looking for a Stetson flat cap while in NYC, I came across this place. Located at 5th avenue in a very nice and old store with plenty of hats. The service I experienced was top notch, I tried all kinds of styles and the friendly sales lady took her time and answered all my questions. I bought 2 flat caps, very happy with it!
On the list of my 'Must Visit in NYC' I made it here during a brief visit last month. I did my research before I came and left with a straw Panama and a Waxed Bucket hat. The ladies were super kind and helpful and for anyone visiting NYC from overseas as we were you won't be sorry you called by.

I bought my first Borsalino last month and was initially delighted with the service and sizing but I didn’t know that Panama hats shrink after a few wears (especially in sun, which is the primary use case). While the saleswoman said that I should pick a size that is snug enough not to lose it in light wind, I would have been better off buying something 1-2 sizes larger given the shrink.
Servicing of hats no longer exists as their hat expert is ill and not returning. They just sell hats…for now.
