I have retained Jared to survey two boats I was considering purchasing. He does exactly you want a good surveyor should do: Ignore the fact that you have already fallen in love with the boat and tell you the truth about it. He is thorough, professional, and understands the potential problems areas on many boat models and designs. In both cases, I had his report by the next day. And he spent quite a lot of time with me to make sure I understood his findings. I would not hesitate to use him again or to recommend him to others.
JHH inspected an 11 year old boat I was considering buying. He was easy to work with, very thorough and very knowledgeable. Jared answered all my questions and provided background information comparing the boat to others. As a result I was able to fairly assess the boat and the price, and make an informed decision. Now that I've bought the boat, the inspection report is my maintenance to-do list. I couldn't be happier having worked with Jared. I would recommend him to anyone needing a marine inspection.
Buying a boat is stressful, buying it without seeing it is almost unimaginable.
