Very disappointed with my newborn photo experience at JCPenney Portraits in Salem. The photographer gave little to no direction, struggled throughout, and did not know how to properly swaddle or pose the baby. Many of the photos were unusable, including some where our eyes were closed, even in images I paid for. I paid $169.99 for this session. My family and I took Christmas photos here yesterday and the photographer was awful in so many ways. In the past I have come to this location for family Christmas photos and the women who photographed us led the session with creative poses and great results - even working well with my infant. The man who photographed my family yesterday did not offer any posing ideas, snapped pictures while we were still getting our toddler to pose correctly, and seemed to have not a single idea about lighting when photographing families of ... read more

I wanted to leave zero stars! but that wasn't an option. This was the worst experience I have ever had. My family had been planning a photography session as a 70th birthday gift to me. I was going to be taking pictures with my children and my grandkids followed by a picture with all of us together. With planning for this big moment everyone prepared for it in their own way. Cannot recommend Cassidy enough! She is fantastic. She has been taking my daughter’s pictures since she was a baby and is now taking ones of my son. She is always making them both laugh and getting the biggest smiles out of them! My daughter has asked to play picture lady at home with some frequency! Often I leave our sessions with Cassidy with a smile on my face and tears in my eyes because she makes my kids look so amazing in each picture! We look forward to each time we get our pictures done!
