This was hands down one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. JCPenney Portraits forces you to make a reservation, yet when we arrived we were made to wait over 45 minutes—only to be told they had ONE background available. ONE. This was never disclosed beforehand, and the website clearly advertises multiple background options, which is extremely misleading. I am so disappointed. We have been coming for years. We arrived for our appointment early and about 45 minutes after the start of our appointment time they confirmed their one and only camera wasn’t working. This was only after I overheard the workers talking about it and I asked if there was an issue. I would’ve appreciated them telling me when I walked in instead of after changing my babies into their outfits. The manager basically made a joke laughing at the situation. I would give this 0 stars if I could. Waited nearly two hours with a scheduled appointment, with two kids for family photos. Then was rushed through the session in less than 10 min, when I believe we should have been allotted at least 15. Got 11 photos to choose from and a total of 1 where both my kids were smiling. Was being run by young staff that didn’t seem knowledgeable or equipped. No mirror in the photo area; did not pull privacy curtain, or have a spot to place our belongings and coats. Lance, Jules, Bannelly, and Kyo were absolutely fantastic! Even though I ran late, they were incredibly accommodating and welcoming. The entire experience was smooth and enjoyable, and I couldn’t be happier with how my headshots turned out. I am beyond satisfied with the results and will definitely be recommending their services to others—and returning myself in the future.

Love coming here because it’s close to home! But photographers should be instructed to give clients variety. Clients are paying over 180 dollars for pictures - we should definitely get more than 24 shots. And should definitely be more prepared for children shots. Prep is everything. Especially with photography. Learn the craft. Unacceptable. Do better.
