I recently attended a photography workshop with Jay Fleming at Hoopers Island in Maryland. The experience exceeded all my expectations. Jay is a master photographer and a great teacher who possesses a wealth of knowledge of this special area and the unique people who live there. My first workshop ever was with Jay back in July of 2018. At the age of 12, after showing some interest in photography, my grandma decided to bring me along to one of Jay Fleming’s Annapolis workshops. Although I had no idea what I was doing, Jay helped me every step of the way, adjusting the settings on my camera as needed and explaining why he made each change. I’ve been on several of Jay Fleming’s photography workshops. Each one has proven well worth the fee. Jay has done a yeoman’s job preparing his sessions so that his group always gets the most out of the area he guides us through. He’s made personal connections with the watermen and waterwomen on the Chesapeake Bay and Maine coast whose lifeline are crabs, oysters, lobsters, etc.. It is always a memorable experience to take a photography workshop with Jay Fleming and the Eastern Shore of Virginia coastal bays workshop I recently participated in was one of the best. Jay always knows where to take workshop participants for the best scenery and wildlife shots and for viewing both in the best possible light - any photographer's dream. The workshops are further enhanced by Jay's generosity in sharing his expertise and knowledge. I highly recommend any workshop that Jay offers.
