It seemed she wanted to help but she was unable to help me as she perhaps hoped. She did initially help me to leave a bad relationship. Later, I gave her the credit for this and she accepted it. I believe a good therapist would have helped me recognize I made the steps to leave and not have taken the praise. She was defensive on multiple occasions.
