I recently used JAMS for a dispute and had a deeply disappointing experience with Judge Chad Allred (Ret.). In my case, the opposing party—representing big business interests—was permitted to repeatedly delay the production of required discovery materials, with no meaningful intervention or facilitation from the neutral to enforce timely compliance. I recently engaged JAMS for arbitration, hoping for a fair and impartial resolution to my dispute. Unfortunately, my experience with Judge William Downing (Ret.) assigned to my case was anything but satisfactory. From the outset, it was clear that Judge Downing had a predetermined bias that heavily favored the opposing party.
