I am Deborah Bass and I have recently graduated from Arkansas Fashion School. I had a good experience at the school learning how to sketch/create, couture and drape my own patterns and designs. I must say, seeing this has really saddened me. I also attended Mrs Kamrans school and never saw any of the things that have been made mention of below (profiling, mistreatment of students and workers). You go through an interview process to gage your abilities. goals, and whether you would succeed at the school or not. Let me begin by responding to the allegations of racism made by Tiara. First of all, there are MANY African American students who have attended this school, and there happens to be three in my class of five. Ms. Kamran is not rude to them nor does she treat them any differently than any other person. Seeing as to how Ms. Kamran is from Iran, she may be more often discriminated against than you are'so you have no right to judge her or accuse her of such nonsense. This is a Fashion Design School in Arkansas! It is like no other Fashion Design program in the United States! Check it out!
I attended this school and I did learn a lot but the way I was treated as well as I saw other students and employees treated was not acceptable. Ms. Kamran was very moody and unpredictable. She would fight with the other teacher in front of all the students and tear this poor old lady down. She seemed to treated her employees like she owned them. Wow! This woman freaks out if you are not running early for an appointment! It was like 20 minutes before my appointment and she emailed me, called me 3 times leaving messages wanting to know why I was late and called my office asking them to have me call her because I was late for a meeting with her...I decided she was too crazy to even show up at all for my appointment!
Really small classes and awesome environment for learning because the you get the attention you need to succeed at Fashion Design...
A convicted felon of counterfeit goods. Sewing fake designer labels into items and trafficing in same. A matter or record published in the Arkansas Democrat newspaper. Beware!
