James was very professional and I learned alot at his workshop. I found it inspiring and gave me a fresh perspective on street photography . I know feel prepared to walk around the city and capture what I see with new eyes.
James Maher's two-day street photography workshop was incredible in every possible way. He is a true artist, technical expert, and NYC tour guide extraordinaire. Your only regret will be that you didn't stay longer!
NYC can be intimidating to navigate if you’ve never been. Hiring James to tour NYC, while sharing his street photography techniques and favorite spots, was priceless. James helped me fall in love with the city and helped build confidence in navigating around NYC, and also in my own street photography journey. I walked away a better photographer and with many great images. I will schedule another tour with James soon.
James is knowledgable, generous, conscientious, and warm. He is ready with a Plan A, B, and C, able to accommodate all individual needs and the weather's moods. He shares his fascinating projects with the group and is invested in getting to know each person in the workshop. I met James on my last day in Manhattan. It was only him and me so we talked nonstop. We tour around Broadway, Soho and China Town. We had a great talk and we exchanged some similar ideas about photography. He told me very cool and interesting unknown facts of NYC and also some great tips about my camera! I wish I could have taken this tour on my first day in the city that way I could have practice more while still in the city. I will practice more in my home town.
